Course Description:

Calling all Level 2, Level 3 and RMT Pros who are an active or developing trainer! The Rocky Mountain Region is looking forward to the upcoming Winter season and we always kick things off in style at the annual Member School Managers & Resort Trainer Fall Event. The event will focus on developing a deeper understanding of the National Certification Standards and you'll learn how to effectively use them as a resource, allowing you to set the stage for a successful winter for your school's training team.

- Alpine Both Days

Certified Level 2-3:


Day 1: Return of Center Line

This on-snow event is designed to cover topics that are focus areas for the membership in the upcoming season. Participants will explore the reintegration of the modernized Center Line concept and the Common Threads of the Center Line milestones (Wedge, Wedge Christie, Basic Parallel, and Dynamic Parallel Turns) and how these fit into training your staff for new hires, returning pros, on-going training and certification training.

Day 2: Lateral Learning and Movement Analysis

Day 2 will focus on how we can vary our skiing from the Center Line in your groups and provide a framework for integrating the concepts into training. Participants also will have an opportunity to discuss changes to the Movement Analysis and Technical Understanding Assessment Activities and how the Center Line framework applies to the Technical Understanding Assessment Criteria.


- Alpine Day 1, Children's Day 2

Alpine Day 1: Return of the Center Line

CS1 and CRMT have been updated! This clinic will cover the updates and inform you of the training needs for CS1, CS2 and CRMT.



- Alpine Day 1, Freestyle Day 2

Alpine Day 1: Return of the Center Line

Freestyle Day 2:

After attending the Freestyle Clinic Day of MSM, trainers will be ready to describe and utilize assessment activities in training settings and provide feedback in a framework that is consistent with Rocky Mountain education staff. Freestyle trainers will be ready to guide instructors on how information is organized within national documents and how our training and assessments reflect national standards and performance guides. Participants will also know and understand all of the Rocky Mountain freestyle clinic offerings.


- Alpine Trainers Course Both Days
     November 17, 2024, 4:00 pm to November 19, 2024, 4:00 pm

Designed for those who have passed the Alpine Trainer (formerly RMT) Entrance Assessment and are in the Alpine Trainer Accreditation process. Expect to discuss and experience updates to PSIA-AASI Certification Standards, specifically the reintegration of a modernized Center Line, which will be the foundation for assessing the Integrated Fundamentals Assessment Criteria in Skiing Performance Assessments. Participants will work through the Common Threads of the Center Line milestones (Wedge, Wedge Christie, Basic Parallel, and Dynamic Parallel Turns). Grow and fine tune your understanding of how precision and accuracy has performance implications for skiing, how to train the concepts, and how this relates to the Alpine Trainer pathway.


- Alpine Examiner 1 Development Both Days
     November 17, 2024, 4:00 pm to November 19, 2024, 4:00 pm

This clinic is for current RMT's who may be considering applying to become a member of the Rocky Mountain Education Staff. Explore the reintegration of the modernized Center Line concept and the Common Threads of the Center Line milestones (Wedge, Wedge Christie, Basic Parallel, and Dynamic Parallel Turns). Participants will work on their technical understanding, demonstrations, and evaluating on-snow and technical performances. Prepare to work on effectively coaching and providing feedback as it relates to the current Level 1 PSIA-AASI National Standards.


- Snowboard Both Days
     November 17, 2024, 4:00 pm to November 19, 2024, 4:00 pm

This Resort Trainer and Manager-focused version of the Certification Update clinic will cover the changes to Snowboard Levels 1, 2, 3 and RMT process that you need to know to train instructors for certification. - Adaptive Both Days
     November 17, 2024, 4:00 pm to November 19, 2024, 4:00 pm

This clinic is intended for adaptive administrators, managers, and trainers who want to participate in facilitated group discussion surrounding adaptive school administrative concerns such as legal rulings or initiatives that may impact adaptive programming, unseated guests using adaptive equipment, use of volunteers in lead instructor roles, adaptive equipment rentals, program assessment instruments, and more.

Attendees will receive updated information on adaptive educational and assessment products offered this season in PSIA-RM-AASI; Adaptive alpine skiing and snowboarding certification standards; and use of Performance Guides, Assessment Criteria, and other support materials to support instructor training and certification preparation.

Group participants will explore building independence for guests in adaptive lessons, use of the class model to meet guest goals and address staffing challenges, the merits of new and existing equipment used in adaptive program lessons, and training for other Resort work groups such as Ski Patrol that may interact with adaptive school guests.

This session may be attended on one or both days with day one occurring indoors and day two on-snow.


- Children's Resort Trainers Both Days
     November 17, 2024, 4:00 pm to November 19, 2024, 4:00 pm

For anyone who leads children's education at their resort, including supervisors, current Level 3 Instructors, RMTs, CRMTs and those studying for CRMT with the goal of eventually joining Children's Ed Staff. Enjoy a day working with your peers to explore and practice the skills for leading clinics on CAP model concepts.


- Directors Both Days
     November 17, 2024, 4:00 pm to November 19, 2024, 4:00 pm

This track is for those who are current snowsports school directors to provide a venue for business sharing and industry standards, along with allowing an open forum for how PSIA-AASI can best support you. This event will be a mix of indoors and on-snow.


- Snowboard Trainer in Process/E1 Development Both Days
     November 17, 2024, 4:00 pm to November 19, 2024, 4:00 pm

Trainer:

For those currently in the Snowboard Trainer selection process, meaning you have passed the Entrance Exam. Your clinic leader will tailor this clinic experience to those focused on completing the process. This includes opportunities to get in front of the group, and to perform activities from the L1-L3 Task Chart and receive feedback.


E1 Development

Snowboard Examiner 1 Development: *The 2024 E1 clinic is for current Snowboard Trainers. If you are considering an application for the job as a Rocky Mountain Examiner, check out this 2-day clinic with qualified Ed Staff. We will use activities from the snowboard task chart to show integrated and highlighted applications of the Snowboard Fundamentals to help you understand the evolution of the Assessment Criteria from Level 1 to level 3 and leave the clinic confident to train pros at your home area.
